<p>Congrats to your D, Emerald! One of our niece’s best friends is grad who went on to a Ph.D. in physical therapy. She loved it there.</p>
<p>And EK, I second what you said about some schools being hidden gems. S1’s alma mater has a very solid journalism department, and was the only one in-state with a sports journalism sequence. It was a no-brainer for him, even though at first he wasn’t too happy about only going 50 miles away. He had a wonderful college experience, and S2 will be headed to the same school in the fall. </p>
<p>I got my master’s degree at a small local college. It was convenient and affordable but more importantly, it specializes in my field and is the best teaching college in the area. It was a win/win.</p>
