I wore a dress from Coldwater Creek to my oldest son’s College graduation last Spring and plan to wear another similar one to my youngest son’s HS graduation next week. They have nice dresses in petite sizes and reviews that help with sizing. [Women?s Dresses: Casual Knit, Long, Spring & Sundresses | Coldwater Creek](Women’s Dresses | Casual & Formal | Coldwater Creek) Right now they are having a 50% off sale, on-line and in the stores. I wore a shawl with one dress and will wear a light open weave sweater with the other.

Do you have a Lord & Taylor in your area? Many have closed, but we still have one a half hour away…that is always my first choice for dresses. In this case, a Dept. store may be your best bet for choices. Nordstroms, Neiman Marcus, Bloomingdales…you want something that you’ll feel good in! Hopefully those stores will have a Petite section with lots of dresses to choose from.

Sometimes you can also find dresses at bridal stores. But they may be dressier than you would want. Doesn’t hurt to look, though! :)

Only place I can reliably order a swimsuit online and have it work for me.

No one’s mentioned [Appleseeds - Classic womens apparel in Misses, Petites and Women’s sizes.](http://www.appleseeds.com) yet, so they’re probably too old-ladyish for many people. I just got a summer dress for a bridal shower from them - a sleeveless sheath, but with a short, very lightweight jacket. I googled for a coupon before ordering and was able to combine it with an online sale (got the dress for 55 percent off, which makes me like it all the more).

I hate going to malls and am so excited to find the great online suggestions on this thread. I’ve peeked in at the “Dressing Young” thread from time to time, but I’m just not worthy. :D

Thank you for the Appleseed suggestion! I can’t begin to tell you how sick I am of the “sit at the waist”, “sit below the waist” pants. They simply do not work for me. My hipbones are too high, to if it sits there, I look like I am as broad as I am tall. I am still wearing my double pleated shorts with a waistband, but only to do gardening. they are so comfortable! I ordered a catalog so I can peruse it at my own pace, but I just may be able to to find something to replace the rags in my closet.

Re: camisoles that do not ride up. The Europeans have solved this issue many moons ago. Wolford and Falke make camisoles that look like bodysuits with snap closure “down under” (yes, this design is comfortable):

The only problem with these brands that they are very expensive. Recently, I saw some decently priced Euro-style camisoles at our local Nordstrom:

I bought a couple. They are NOT as low cut as depicted in the link if you get the right size.

I’m in my mid 50’s and 5’1" and 110 pounds. I have been wearing leggings for two years now. And I swore I would never wear them again after the 80’s. I wear mine with boots and long-ish (mid-thigh) tops/sweaters. I can dress them up or down depending on the boots and top.

Comfy is my favorite brand of leggings.

I have friends who are much heavier than I am with bigger bums, thighs and they wear leggings and look great in them. You just need to have the right top and footwear.

I buy most of my clothes at a local boutique (lots of Theory, Nicole Miller, Kay Unger, Milly, etc.,) but also younger, less expensive designers like BB Dakota.

I also only wear expensive jeans as they fit me so much better than cheap jeans.

BB - for a while, back in the early 90s, I could get those snap-crotch tops in the states. Woefully, they went away. I loved them!

emilybee, take a look at the Dressing Young thread. There is some talk about Karen Millen brand of clothes - if you like Theory, etc. you might like their stuff.

I buy expensive jeans, too, but with deeply discounted prices on Yoox. The two brands that have my butt perfectly covered, so to speak, are D&G and Burberry. I can find them on Yoox or at the outlets and pay less than I would pay for a pair of 7, True Religion, etc. on sale.
