no im in america, but i was born in bombay

right, so are you a marathi? I’m punjabi…

and i’m a malayali

yah im marathi, i also speak marathi =p

Chinese! (10 Characters)

well…do we have to make this an Indian Bonding thread
Please lets discuss cornell

yessir–cornell ranks around 5th or 6th for prestige in my opinion

aga bai, chaddi diste!

haha thats the only marathi i know…do you visit India often?

and ok, state your top few then…

ait, top few (well above cornell): HYP, Columbia, then Cornell

and the last time i visited india was two summers ago =( im really busy most of the time

“i honestly think that Cornell offers a better education overall than HYP, the grade inflation at HYP makes it a joke…”

This is a good point. The thing at HYP is that those kids, like many Cornellians and other Ivy League students is that, regardless of grade in/deflation, the students and faculty have cold, hard, indisputable talent. The cohorts at HYP probably have a little more talent by percentage (IN MY OPINION) because the selectivity is much higher than at Cornell. But as far as quality of education–differences are negligible unless you’re discussing each school’s flagship program (i.e. hotel management at cornell). Also, I’m really getting tired of you engineering kids and hotel kids running your mouths about those schools at cornell and attributing cornell’s quality solely to those programs. Much of what Cornell offers is great, and Cornell’s name wasn’t built on engineering and hotels. That being said, let me iterate that probably the major factor that drew me to Cornell was it’s student diversity. I love the fact that we have you crazy engineers and hotel people running around colliding into the architects and lib arts kids and all the rest. This, I think, is what sets Cornell apart from the entire Ivy League crop. So, don’t let my remarks offend anyone, on the contrary, I enjoy the breadth of Cornell’s offerings and expertise.

bongoboy , usually if somebody had offended Cornell Engineering i would have freaked out and presented u with a list of facts and figures… but since u o the whole praise Cornell…no offence taken

I would just like to say that there are no crazy hotel kids saying anything about the hotel school. Thats all those crazy engineering kids that are lumping us all together :)

No one gives CALS enough credit. Cornell has the best Food Science Department in the world.

spanks and joke and arjun I just want to point out one thing first you want me removed because I dearly love Vanderbilt yet you guys are speaking hindi to each other and all going to cornell. I belong here as much as you do… dont be so prejudiced ok. its rude.
Secondly cornell is the ONLY ivy with a cooking school that has their geniuses walk around in waiters jackets and eating cookies all day. You call this a distinguishing characteric of an IVY? I think not. maybe in bombay thats genius over here in the US its a cooking school stuck on an ivy campus to give rich kids an entrance into an ivy. and that world list is a joke probably done by limey from cambridge who is hung over from a pub binge. and since when is making cookies a “food science” whoa thats a stretch…

For me, Ivy League was Princeton, Yale, Harvard, and Columbia. But now that I know about all the other Ivies, I think Cornell ranks in the top three academically because of the homework load. They work your ass off there, don’t they? But as far as prestige, I think Yale, Harvard, and especially Princeton rank in the top three and Cornell is at the bottom.

Awww I feel bad. I still love you Cornell!! <33

Why don’t you look up food science online? Maybe do a little research for the first time in your life before attacking food science? You don’t learn to cook in food science (but the presumption is that you do like food).

I don’t have anything against Vanderbilt, and I think that your criticisms of Cornell are baseless and childish.

May I ask why you are even in the Cornell forum? Is it curiosity or envy?

If you look at his other posts, he’s just a ■■■■■. Nothing more.

Prestige Rank.
HYP
Dartmouth/Columbia
Upenn/Brown
Cornell

thats just how it is!

Either way, Getting into any one of these schools is great. You’ll be set for life!
Peace

I like the cornell room but I will leave. norcal you are not important enough to attract ■■■■■■.

interesting to see how Vanderbilt falls into both “Little Race/Class Interaction” and “Alternative Lifestyles Not An Alternative” according to Princeton Review.
