Where does Cornell Rank?

Cornell ranks #1 in ivy league hockey…

As for undergradAnthro (if we are going for other rankings…) I would say 3 or 4…

UChicago
Stanford

UC-Berk

Cornell

NYU

what are the … for?

I have a thing for ellipses (that is what they are called)… they add… suspense! Seriosuly though I put them there because some people may add there own little Podunk U. there that they just love and would go there no matter what, even if they are wrong. Lol

Cornell is my #1!!! W000t!

See? For some people Cornell is numero uno in everything. Certainly I’m agreeing with that in most respects. Except weather, but I’m used to it I live in Western PA now…

Sorry. This thread is actually meant to discuss how the general public ranks the Ivies in terms of how prestigious it thinks they are. I was just being a ■■■■■. :-[

lol (blahblahblah)

Man, I haven’t had my say yet and this thread’s gone to 12 pages…

OK, reputation-wise, you can’t beat HYP. Not counting individual departments, but as a whole.

Columbia has a low admit rate and appears uber-competitive, but I would say that this is only because of its location.

I would put Cornell on par with Columbia.

Sure, Wharton is amazing. But the other divisions aren’t as good in UPenn.

Dartmouth is an LAC. It doesn’t have a proper research grad school. Hence its low place in world rankings, which place a lot of emphasis on grad research, and relatively unknown.

Brown… well, personally I think it’s a slacker’s school. Yeah, its curriculum affords the student a lot of freedom, but you can’t deny it has hyper-grade-inflation. Apparently a lot of employers and grad schools take a Brunonian GPA with a grain of salt.

But at the end of the day, each Ivy has its colour and they all give you great undergrad education.

I guess in the common misconception of ivys the rank is as follows:

Harvard

Princeton

Yale

Columbia

Dartmouth (this is way off as I believe this school to be absolute trash)

University of Pennsylvania (In all fairness, their Wharton business school is probably better than Harvard, but Harvard has more money and money=success in business)

Cornell (eventhough I think Cornell has probably the best life science programs of all the ivies, most people know Cornell but don’t know it like they know H…arvard)

Brown (nice school, but they just don’t do much these days)

I would rank the ivys like this:

Harvard

Cornell

University of Pennsylvania

Columbia

Princeton

Brown

Yale

Dartmouth

but that’s just me, a lot of people will probably say it’s a ridiculous list. Those people may be named George W. Bush. Oh well, I’m out, Sharpton 4 president, y’all!

No way Yale is 7th.

You can’t go wrong with the Reverend! Well, you can. Go a lot wrong. Ok I take it back.

Well now that I think about it, a school that has produced both the Bushes deserves to get it rank pulled down a little.

tuly said…
Qoute:
“7. Cornell (eventhough I think Cornell has probably the best life science programs of all the ivies, most people know Cornell but don’t know it like they know H…arvard)”

and engineering too
Cornell Engineering>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Other ivies

Look, in overall sweetness Cornell is #1. **** Hahvahd.

which is exactly why WE DIDN’T GO TO HARVARD

LOL YEA! Preach it brothers and sister (Spanks tips hat)

WE DIDN’T GO TO HARVARD.

No we don’t like Crimson plus we didn’t get in.

we’re not that corky and they can’t play hockey

thier engineering sucks, and their attitude is like muck

okay yeah you need to stop with your engineering arguments. its the same thing repeated over and over again. we get it
