Where is the outrage - Black men by police vs murders by fraternities

I actually met the guy who wrote the comedy skit of floor wax and dessert topping!

Outrage over a Caucasian man with authority killing an African American? Wouldn’t be surprised. However, fraternity man killed over binge drinking, would be.
The “self-righteous” would typically point their fingers at the color of the victim crying “racism!” while dismissing all evidence that the victim was intoxicated if it did get publicized.

There is no outrage for intoxication possibly due to the fact that not many people care. The news is obviously controlled by the media and certainly a great deal of the population consume alcohol, knowing that 90% of alcohol is consumed by teenagers in frats and such, businesses would lose quite a bit of money if people started becoming wary. There’s also that the fraternity tradition has been around for quite some time, people can only shrug and say “whatever, what more could you expect from teens?”. Forgive me if I’m wrong but this my theory at least :stuck_out_tongue:

90% of alcohol consumption is by teenagers in fraternities? That’s a hefty statistic.

How about 11% of alcohol consumption is by 11-20 year olds and 90% of said drinking is in the form of binge drinking? I think this sounds a bit better.

Ooh, darn it.
“Where is the outrage over the fact that about 90 percent of the alcohol consumed by youth under the age of 21 in the United States is in the form of binge drinks?”

Certainly misread it, but my point still stands, businesses won’t lose as much as I had anticipated but they will indubitably. 11% is still quite a large number especially given the amount of alcohol purchased per year.

Prevalence of Drinking: According to the 2013 National Survey on Drug Use and Health (NSDUH), 35.1 percent of 15-year-olds report that they have had at least 1 drink in their lives.17 About 8.7 million people ages 12–20 (22.7 percent of this age group) reported drinking alcohol in the past month (23 percent of males and 22.5 percent of females).18

Prevalence of Binge Drinking: According to the 2013 NSDUH, approximately 5.4 million people (about 14.2 percent) ages 12–20 were binge drinkers (15.8 percent of males and 12.4 percent of females).18

Prevalence of Heavy Drinking: According to the 2013 NSDUH, approximately 1.4 million people (about 3.7 percent) ages 12–20 were heavy drinkers (4.6 percent of males and 2.7 percent of females).18

This was 2 years ago, but I think I can assume the percent is still vast. It’s a very big issue that deserves attention, that’s too bad though. There can be bias as well, lots of kids want to “fit in” so the possibility of falsified information can be possible, that they perhaps drank a sip out of curiosity, or lying to feel “cool(?)”.
