<p>Yes. It is better to get in with the right roommate/ suitemates (hopefully) in the first go around, say, by going through the NYU Class of 2015 facebook group. </p>
<p>You can not be sure of what is in the housing inventory at the end of the first three weeks of school. NYU Res Life and Housing Service would not even know what is available until they take inventory during the 3 week process.</p>
<p>The re-assignment is a last resort if you really, really hate your living situation. Remember even if NYU OKs the re-assignment, you have to start over again 3 weeks into classes. It would be a hassle but, of course, still an option for those who are really dissatisfied with their original housing assignment.</p>
