Where to go clam digging in New England?

They can be rocky, but that doesn’t deter the clams. People usually go clamming at low tide, but it does require a permit and in Southern Maine there are fewer permits available than people who want them.

Very true.

People here dig clams for a living. Few tourists want to go clamming. (Although we always did when I was a kid and we spent a week or two on Cape Cod or in Maine.)

I loved that place! And for a few months one year I actually had a job in a fish factory on Fish Pier, right down from the No Name.

Try clamming on the bayside of Cape Cod or inlets in RI.

I love the noname restaurant. Thanks for the link, I will definitely visit there. I think seafood at Legal Seafood is very good(my ex-roomate worked there) but overpriced.
