<p>Dreams in Cancun is exactly what its name suggests. All inclusive with 5 top shelf restaurants included in the package and a la carte restaurants available if you wish. The hotel is luxurious and modern, the views magnificent, with easy walking to shopping, plenty of sightseeing trips, all sorts of water sports and a beautiful beach, a gym, and organized and safe night time excursions to area clubs for the 18-30 yr old crowd. Went there December '08 with my wife, 18 yr old daughter and 2 of her girl friends and the kids (and us) had a wonderful time. The staff includes social directors for the young adults who organize all sorts of activities that were very appealing for those interested in meeting other young adults and socializing.</p>
<p>I would highly recommend Riviera Maya. Lots of sites have great deals on right now as the economy is so bad. It is beautiful and the east coast of Mexico is stunning. I’ve been to Puerto Vallarta as well and it was nice but In my opinion the east coast has much more to offer than the west.</p>

<p>S1 to Ixtapa went with a friend and his family (they own a home there) the summer after high school graduation (Aug). He had a wonderful time there. I think most of their time was spent at the beach or pool.</p>
<p>I like going to places that look a bit like they belong in the environment. So many of the chain resorts are the same everywhere, and you can’t tell whether you’re in Mexico, the Bahamas or Florida.</p>
<p>I feel that I should mention that the Grand Pallidum is somewhat different than many of the other AIs in that they built the resort into the jungle rather than clear cutting the native vegetation. There is a whole series of raised walkways through the jungle so your chances of spotting some wildlife is pretty good. They are also lucky enough not to have the “whales” that hold the sand on the beach and, in fact, have lots of trees to provide shade on the actual beach. The resort has won several awards for being eco friendly. </p>
<p>I am a fan! My son is still in contact with some people that he met there 2 years ago. Several times he was the only non-french person on the beach volleyball team and he was amazed at how friendly they all were (relations were strained between the 2 countires at the time).</p>
