Where to transfer with GPA 2.9 and 62 Credits (A.A. Degree)?

I would check with a college admissions counselor the best way to meet residency requirements. Your online classes may be at a community college 3000 miles away, but it’s a signal you’re interested in continuing your education. If there’s any sign you’re moving to qualify for in-state tuition rates, you’ll be rejected the residency qualification. They want to see a full commitment to the state: job, lease, license, voting.

Really? Let’s say if you maintain the address/job/bills there for a year and meet all the requirements for residency with the state administration and receive a state DL then how can a school possibly say that u’re an out-of-state student?

Yet the class is a voluntary standing connection with the state you just moved from. It calls into question if you’re committed to living on the west coast. And you can’t take a class in your new state either until after a year and establishing residency.

If you’re establishing residency in another state is your goal, be prepared not to take any classes for a year.

Besides the schools you have listed, consider some of the following schools for transfer:

West Virginia University
University of Nebraska
University of Nevada
Auburn University
University of Idaho
New Mexico University, and my three top choices for you:

University of Kentucky
University of Oregon
University of Arizona

Thanks for your great response, “Calcruzer”. I’m gonna look into the schools you mentioned. I was actually already considering University of Nevada, both Las Vegas & Reno, I contacted the admission and advising people there and I am pretty confident I can get in.

Thanks for your 2 cents, “ferryboat10”. I guess that’s a valid point you brought up. I’ll check back with the state administrations and the schools of interest on the subject. Hopefully, I’ll find a way around it, though.

Also, everybody, today I called the following schools and described them my situation:

California State University, Los Angeles - people there told me I am very likely to be accepted! Sweet!

University of Washington, Seattle - honestly brought me down to earth by informing me that I will be rejected “unless I have super-unusual circumstances” )

University of Utah, Salt Lake City - told me that I will almost definitely be accepted! Cool!

Today, I also spoke to:

University of Colorado, Denver - looks like I’m also getting in there (admission GPA is 2.0 schoolwide but 3.0 for business, however I still can get into university, improve my gpa & easily switch to business major after I get 3.0)

Florida International University, Miami - definitely going to be accepted based on GPA requirements, core classes, etc.

So, I guess, so far, transfer opportunities don’t look so bad for me at all.
