Where Would You Go?

I second ( or third or fouth ) the cruise idea. This is a popular an well rated line which runs throughout Europe and the Mediterranean.

Not so sure about the river cruises. Friends of ours did one of these as an empty nest trip. And while they enjoyed the experience, the wife did say that at the age of 50 they were younger by about 20+ years than the rest of the passengers. Also, those boat can be very small an intimate.

And not to be a party pooper…as for Neuschwanstein…S was just there - mid July. He and his buddies took one look at the line of tourists (mostly Asian - must be the travel time of year for that part of the world) and did not even try to take a tour. It was a 3 hour wait.

I disagree on the African Safari. H & D1 went on one in May and it was a very good experience. They got this through a charity auction. I declined to go, as I traveled to Western Africa for business every year.

I know you said Europe, but what about Asia? My 22-year-old had a fantastic 12 days in Tokyo.
