To add to the above, and it’s more technical than I like to be, but as I understand it, Oxy doesn’t have a “transfer program” with Columbia. Mr. Obama transferred to Columbia in the convention way.
To clarify the source of my confusion, @MYOS1634, CTCL seems to be both a collegiate association and a guide book. They seem like a great group of colleges for students to take a look at, and, as you stated, some are quite selective. However, I think there may be a conflict of interest in the way this brand has been marketed, particularly since the name of the association itself is so descriptive.
I think the colleges who made the book got together and decided to further market their unexpected attention.
