When you apply to Boston College, you’re not applying to Boston College itself, but to the different schools at BC (Arts and Sciences, School of Management, School of Nursing, and School of Education). As with every program, there are going to be people more attracted to one more so than the other, a simple case of supply and demand.

When more people want to apply to say the School of Management, demand increases, while the supply (number of seats) remains the same. Basically, the acceptance rate at the school of management is higher than any of the other 3 schools simply because there is a higher demand for entrance to the particular school.
