Which news site looks plain and is less colorful?

If you personalize the google news you can pick from a very large menu of publications and topics that you would like to get information on.

CNN must feel the downturn in page hits. I’ve completely stopped going there, and have read numerous comments like those in this thread.

I hate sites with lots of graphics, video, and annoying ads, as well as all the flash content. Keep It Simple Stupid. I like the BBC, NY Times, Washington Post, or just the Google News site.

I like AlJazeera. It’s even more basic than the BBC.
Look what story made it to the BBC front page.

For more unusual coverage, I like Agence France-Press at afp.com. A somewhat colorful but easy to navigate site for the Middle East region is Al-Monitor at al-monitor.com. Has links to papers/sites from many countries.

Harvestmoon asked where we got our info…I tried to copy and I may have accidently flagged her post…I was trying to say that we subscribe to our local large-city newspaper (find them all less biased than TV) but have switched to their online subscription. The “morning paper” looks the same on my iPad as if it were paper. I can double lick to read past page one. And if we go out of town, I don’t have to ask the neighbor to collect my paper.
