I was on the verge of buying one, got spooked by some of the negative reviews on Amazon, and now am back to almost being ready to order (the HD is on sale for $50, $10 discount). I have Amazon Prime and that alone would make it worthwhile, I think. Just a couple of quick questions:

Does the unit really get very hot? Don’t want to risk any kind of damage.
I need to buy the separate HDMI cable in order to stream the HD, right?

It says it converts from hdmi to what you want. Then you could use it as hdmi on your new TV.

In regards you sports, you can get some sports. Mlb has their package that cash be bought but it’s only for out of area games. If it did sports id cancel my cable. That’d the only reason i have it.

Thanks fendergirl! H and I asked the Best Buy guy if there was such a thing and he looked at us like we had 3 heads. I should have known to google it. Back to the search!

CC is so useful. I just ordered the Roku 2 XD as a Christmas present. The Roku website is also offering the $10 off deal on most models. Thanks to all of your advice, that was easy. Thanks.

That’s a good deal. I’ve been thinking of picking up another one for in my office to stream Pandora. I currently have a cable box in there that i pay three dollars a month for and the only thing i use it for is the music channels!

That being said, i think my old first generation blu ray player might be on it’s last legs so if i replace it I’ll have too decide if i just want another plain player for in here with my roku or if i want an internet ready one and then move this roku to the other room. I really would rather prefer the roku interface though do i guess well see what happens!
