I think you have a better shot than most, but all these people telling you you’ll “definitely get in” to Stanford and every Ivy are insane. Kudos to for keeping a realistic perspective on this. Best of luck!

Just wanted to get some input. I’m still waiting for word from Stanford but in the meantime I have been accepted into the University of Alabama and they will give me about $30,000/yr. I read that OOS will cost about $42,000. I would like to study medicine, economics or psychology. What are your thoughts on attending UofAlabama for $12,000/yr?
It depends on what your other options are.
Have you run the online net price calculators for all the other schools on your list?
You said you could attend Pepperdine for free.
Nothing you’ve written so far suggests that Alabama definitely would be worth a $12K/y premium to you over Pepperdine (as long as you’re o.k. with the fact that P is a Christian college, and as long as P has the programs you want.)
You don’t have to answer for a long time. So why don’t you wait until you hear back?
UoA for $12K is a very good deal, since I assume you got into the Honors College. Apply to University fellows and/or CBHP now.

Congrats! I was almost 100% sure that S would accept you. Did you submit all the financial info? Did you get an FA pkg? If not, does the NCP results look good?
