Which schools train "triple threats"

Well, just as there are differences in how schools offer dance for MT students, it came as a surprise to me to find out that contemporary vocal styles are not addressed during voice lessons at some MT schools until perhaps senior year as a matter of policy. Ask questions, assume nothing.

Along with a wonderful BFA training program, a person’s work ethic is a HUUUGE factor in whether they will succeed or not. You may be blessed with a large amount of talent, but if you don’t have the drive an dedication to work your way up- you may get lost in the crowd.
My advice would be to go seek a program that best caters to your individual needs as a theatre artist. Look into the programs that YOU like the best to fit you, not just the programs that have big names and are “the best”. Each school is subjective to your personal opinion.

Only you will know what is best for you.

The University of Central Oklahoma has a GREAT program!

Our majors work: Broadway, Off-Broadway, Broadway National Tours, International Tours, Disney, Cruise Ships, You Name It!

Shenandoah trains “Quadruple Threats” - Acting, Singing, Dancing, and BUSINESS. Students learn all three performance areas but also learn how to manage themselves as a business, think like an entrepreneur, and write a business plan to guide their future and keep them working. Students learn to think beyond Broadway and instead focus on working in NYC theatre, Regional Theatre, Tours, TV/Film, Industrials, Live Music, and Improv for the rest of their lives, including spending time on Broadway if that’s part of their plan.

The future of the industry isn’t the Triple threat, its the Quadruple Threat!
