“I drive by mills college every day, but don’t know a thing about it, especially their reputation in med school placement success rate.”
- this is completely irrelevant. Just go to any place and as somebody else said, enjoy your time there and have a goal of A in every class. You should be fine at any place. The important factors are that college is a good match to your personality and wide range of interests, as cheap as possible (to you, free is the best) and has a great pre-med committee.
