<p>We could improve our schools trememndously if we allowed kids to choose their own schools, thus causing competition. Our education system is a stagnant unionized, government-run monopoly, and nothing gets done in a monopoly.</p>
<p>You know that the countries that tend to outscore Americans, like the Scandinavian and East Asian states, have a far more monopolized education system than the highly decentralized American public education system, right?</p>
<p>Of course, we all know how great literacy and education was before the creation of government-funded schools, right?</p>
