Oy :s … Can you during your lunch break call Montclair’s office of financial aid and ask them whether you might increase your financial aid package if you retake the SAT before graduation and increase your scores? And if so, would an increase from about 780 to about 1000 be considered sufficient to justify such an increase? (Explain Montclair is your first choice but your current financial aid package makes it impossible to attend, so you’re trying to do your part to make things possible).

I checked for various things on your behalf:
- if you’re in the top 5% of your class, regardless of scores, you could qualify for Governor’s Scholarship
http://www.hesaa.org/Documents/GUSScholarshipProgram.pdf - you should be eligible for $8,500 at Montclair through TAG
http://www.hesaa.org/Documents/TAG_program.pdf - could you be eligible for EOF?
http://www.nj.gov/highereducation/EOF/EOF_Eligibility.shtml - before the Parent PLUS loan, you could try for the NJ State Loan, it’s a better deal than Parent PLUS

(select the 10-year fixed rate) - Could you apply for a TEACH grant, take Secondary education with Social Studies subject content in additino to your Social Work minor, work for 4 years in a designated district, then move on to your MSW?
