It’s really going to boil down to specifics! Geneseo is a smaller university known for personal attention. Binghamton is a bigger university more focused on research. At Binghamton, you would be competing with more grad students and possibly have TAs. I doubt Geneseo will have many teaching assistants. However, Binghamton may offer better alumni connections and undergrad opportunities. FYI Geneseo has ~5,000 students and Binghamton has ~12,000! I thought Geneseo had a pretty campus. The dorms are also rather nice! I’ve never seen the Binghamton campus though.

If I were you, I would look at the course offerings! One university may have more classes suited to your interests. It would also be helpful to look into faculty and facilities. If possible, visit both of the campuses! You may find that you prefer one over the other.

If I were you, I would probably choose Binghamton. It has many programs to choose from - many more than Geneseo. The campus is bigger as well. 5,000 students may be a little stifling! Binghamton is also closer to several major cities(Boston, NYC, etc.) I believe Bing is around 4 hours from the city! If you would like to know about Rochester, I could tell you! Bottom line: Check out the campuses and concurrent programs!
