Which University will CC's Sweetheart Choose?

berkeley has PLENTY of “famous” and notable alumni. our past and future governor went to berkeley (jerry brown), and so did harold from harold and kumar (haha). these are only 2 of MANY.

I think Lo Bosworth should give UCLA’s commencement speech, 2012!

hahah thank you,your…messiah-ness.

@vintijthebruin well if you’re basing your argument off of assumptions now, then it is no longer valid. thanks for the debate, you have been a good opponent :)

No problem, you have been a worthy adversary.

Side note.

I like James, I’m not putting him down at all. In fact he is in the masters program in writing at Columbia right now, so he is well on his way to getting back at those UCLA protesters for denying him. The idea is this, why would they deny him if he is someone they like? The answer is simple, because he played a dumb pot head in a movie once. Why would this be significant? Because people at UCLA care a lot about how others view them, they care about looking a certain part, looking smart and distinguishable. Now if they would have just let him speak, what would be the issue? Their academic reputation around the state and nation would be the issue. Thus, by UCLA paradoxically denying Franco to speak, they have literally revealed how much they truly wanted him to speak but didn’t want to look a certain way to other schools. Therefore, they do indeed care about celebrity as a whole, they are just unable to cope with the reputation that goes along with it. They are unwilling to be looked at as these the type of people who would allow someone to speak at their school who, at the time, was best known for playing a role that was utterly un-academic. I love UCLA and I might still go there, but that doesn’t mean I can’t admit that the student body is a bit vain. I could care less if they are or not, the fact is they are in general, more likely to be vain and shallow.

I really don’t know where you’re getting this from…but I disagree. So that’s that. Let us just agree to disagree& get back to pressuring Jane…

CHOOSE UCLA!

Fine agree to disagree. My position is that UCLA, based on the way the student body dresses, enjoys the celebrity look, and therefore is more likely to care about how they look than other UC’s, leading to the conclusion that they care about celebrity more. Your position is the opposite, that UCLA does not care about looking like celebrities, therefore do not care about celebrity.

Either way, Jane, visit both and make your decision fast. SIR deadline is coming up fast.

vintij is right if you say otherwise you are lying to yourself. I just moved to LA in the summer and as a whole this town is obsessed about being celebrity and such I noticed this within a couple of weeks of living in LA. Wale put it best in his song “90210”.

and someone said they want to be a lawyer so celebrity influence is 0 but what if you want to be a kick ass lawyer like Ari Gold (JD/ MBA)

Wrong and wrong.

Vintij I hope you don’t have law aspirations. I do think you would make a great businessman tho, everything you say is bull **** so you’re already half way there!

OH SNAP. “Shihts” getting real.

Well if your assertion is that everything I say is bull crap, then your claim “wrong and wrong” which is officially three words, is less than bull crap because it’s not saying anything. It’s not even a disagreement because nobody knows what is “wrong,” or who is “wrong” in your post. If I’m halfway there by saying something, you my friend, have a long way to go because you’ve said nothing, and have nothing to back up your nothingness.

Ari Gold is an agent. Ari Gold is fictional.

yeah, but he has a JD and MBA so technically he is a lawyer

covers ears laallalalal ari gold is real

What have you chosen?!

she chose uc irvine

compton community college

Shallow morons. Settle down.

Maybe she wants to remain a Jane Doe?

berk … duhhhh

I know… but am not allowed to say… :).

what’s the point in not telling us? doesn’t make much since now, it’s june 3rd.
