Which University would best match my Requirements

@HARRPREET‌ It would probably be much more productive and serve you much better to wait until you have your acceptances to some of these schools…then your questions would be concrete and you could compare value better with financial aid packages in place.

Overall, I gather that WPI grads are very well-prepared for the job field, the name carries weight in the fields that they want to enter, they received good starting salaries, and they are able to succeed. WPI probably carries THE MOST weight in the Northeast. Like Boston, Maine, NY, MA. When you wander outside of that zone, WPI probably won’t “sound” good, but I’m sure that the professionals in the tech fields know WPI’s quality.

I don’t know how WPI’s admissions process works at all but if they offer any interviews or alumni connections like that, you should definitely take them up on the offer and ask an alumni or admissions rep these types of questions too.

@TheDidactic thank you for your response , can you also tell me sometthing about “Missouri University of Science & Technology”

All your choices are good – the question is how do you plan on getting an employer to sponsor you post education? Think seriously about your financial commitment here as you will need a solid income to repay the loans and for that you need a US work permit/visa not just the student visa

Never heard of it. It looks like a state school so that means you’d be paying the hefty OOS tuition. I don’t know about the size or prestige of it, but that doesn’t mean the quality of education would be sacrificed. The schools we’ve been talking about may help you better in the fields you’re looking into, but the Missouri school does look like it has good engineering/science/math programs.

@TheDidactic It is a Public University and its fees is also less as compared to other universities on my list and has a good ROI

copy the link and see the university description:

@Mom1996 You are perfectly right , can you give me suggestions as it would be very important for me to work for some time after my undergrad to pay off my debt and gather some money so that i can further do my Msc and Phd in Robotics…

That’s the first time I never saw MIT at the top lol.

Looking at US News Ranking, it highly depends on what you want your specialty to be…plus you already applied so Missouri isn’t even in the running. Unless you applied to it as a safety but didn’t list it?

@TheDidactic : When i found out facts like these-
1)Mechanical engineering courses is one of the most popular courses in missouri university
2)Its overall fees is also very affordable as compared to other universities on my list
3)The starting salaries and the job placements are more or less same when compared to universities like WPI , Stevens etc

I think i should apply there as well , what is your view ?

Can you also look onto @TheMom1996 COMMENT On this thread and suggest me that is it really difficult ot get a work permit once i complete my undergraduation

I can’t tell you what to do but I can make some unprofessional suggestions.

If you think that it is a good school that will fit you well and the deadline hasn’t passed yet, then go for it. I wasn’t aware of those facts. OOS Tuition is 37K. I don’t know how much you would get in financial aid but I put your stats in Missouri’s net price calculator. Don’t worry I’m not a stalker lol. I looked on your past posts. The calculator says you wouldn’t qualify for any merit. I don’t honestly know how you would qualify for merit at the other places either with your stats, but I say you should apply to the places, see what they give you/if you get in, and then go from there.

@TheDidactic Thank you for your response , my CR and writing scores are too low in the SAT 1 ,I recently recieved my scores of SAT 2 and TOEFL
SAT2 -
MATH LEVEL 2 : 760
PHYSICS : 720

TOEFL : 92

Would that help

Yeah that might help a little bit. That’s funny your Math 1 (SAT Math is basically the subject test Math 1) and Math 2 scores are exactly the same. I’m not sure about how places look at TOEFL.

@TheDidactic Thank You for your response , But now i am really feeling nervous…

You’re welcome! I wish you the best of luck. Come back and update this thread when you know more/get decisions back. And don’t be! You’ll be fine.

Thank You @TheDidactic I would surely update the thread as soon as i get my decisions …You were of great help

South Dakota School of Mines and Technology is a small low cost engineering focused school.
