I called the WH switchboard (202-456-1414) and asked to be routed to the Internship Office.

So how is everyone feeling about interviews (possibly) coming out starting tomorrow? I’m just glad that decisions come out at the beginning of March, which isn’t too far from now. Then I can stop wondering about this lol
@kerjuch honestly i dont even know what to think… its hard to imagine that they are going to call me since thousands of people apply each year - it wouldn’t be short of a miracle if they did. hopefully it happens!
and remember that not every department does interviews! I had a friend do the program and they said not every department conducts interviews.

I can’t say I was expecting an interview request, and I know not every department does them, but given I don’t really have any connections to anyone in D.C., I’d be surprised if I was granted a conditional offer (or even a waitlist) without an interview. Oh well, we’ll see what happens in March!
I’m getting super nervous because March is approaching and I haven’t received a phone call. I searched “White house internship” on Facebook and saw that one girl recently posted that she was chosen for the internship out of five hundred applicants and another girl’s parents posted about her being accepted into the program for summer 2020. I thought notifications went out the week of March 2nd or is that just for those being rejected?
Don’t worry, they’re definitely different programs. Sometimes good things take time and it doesn’t seem like anyone has heard anything yet! And if some people have, interviews can still occur very last minute and most departments just look at applications.
