White House Internship

DR forms include a FBI check, some random paperwork to sign, and your secret security (or higher…but I doubt it) clearance forms. They are extensive. If you didn’t get one I wouldn’t say you are out. Reading the past threads people got forms very late in the game. They send some out, some people fail, then they send more out. Other departments might not have even started to look for their interns b/c of how busy they are… It’s all a guessing game b/c I feel that it is department specific and there are many different departments with many different needs and timelines.

Hey, new to this forum. I received an email several weeks ago from the person who interviewed me saying they would like me to be their intern, but that it was conditional on passing the security clearance. Does anyone know if this means I am likely to get in? What are the chances of not passing the security process? There’s nothing in my background or history that is unusual…

@eucerin It means you have the job contingent on passing the background check. As long as you’re not a felon, habitual drug user, in massive debt, or other risk factors you have a place - congrats! Private message me if you have more questions about the security clearance process – as long as you have a clean background it’s not a big deal.

Just got an processing email. First one I’ve gotten.

I just got my second processing email

I got a second APE as well

APE

APE

Well, on a good note. Last time they sent out a second APE form they quickly started to send out letters of acceptance and regret. So… maybe we will hear something this week.

I hope so…need to know if I should start seeking alternatives

Any news out there WHIP nation?

I haven’t heard anything either. No interview, no emails, no rejection… Guess if you haven’t received a rejection email you’re still in the game? Do they have a waitlist or something?

There is a thing as a waitlist. A good amount of people will find out they can’t do the internship for lots of different reasons so they always have people on reserve. I also haven’t hear anything.

@Wolfgang1025 If you go back further into this thread, you’re absolutely right, there is a wait list. However, it seems that if you are wait listed, they do inform you – so you would know if you’re on a wait list.

@mollywine Have you heard anything back? Best of luck to you @Wolfgang1025

@brandonlz93 I have not heard anything, only APE emails. I have not had an interview or rec’d any forms  good luck to all though!

also still waiting…

Just offered a paid position for a different job this summer at $29.64 an hour (full-time). I think I might withdraw if I don’t hear anything soon. I need to accept or decline the paid job by close of business April 2nd.

Any news?
