Are people willing to post what department they are waiting to hear from? I’m curious if we are all waiting to hear from the same office. Is there a policy stating that we shouldn’t share this information? I tried to find one, and couldn’t. But, wanted to gauge other people’s opinions beforehand.
Offers have gone out for most people. I have received one myself, know others in different offices who have received them, and know people who have been waitlisted. Offered people are instructed not to discuss on forums such as this but I felt that I had to set up a new account to let people know about what’s actually going on. That being said, I assume there’s still a chance your offices haven’t gone through the process of hiring their interns. I went through this process once before (and declined my offer because I didn’t like the office I got) and I know that its not totally unprecedented for offers to get extended this late in the process. I interviewed with NEC - similar position to those above, DR, 3 APEs. Curious how many of the 150 accepted interns anonymous knows…
If you had an interview, my recommendation would be to gather your confidence, give your interviewer a call, and ask for an update on the status of your application. I did and got the good news that my department selected me for the summer internship. It’s still not 100% – I don’t have written confirmation and I still need to advance through the background/on-line presence check. I suspect that many other selectees and alternates are also stuck in this backlog and won’t find out about there selection for some time yet unless they ask.
Any news out there? We are almost a month out from the start of the internship…

Hi, long time follower of this thread but just made an account to comment and weigh in.
I had an interview, DR, 4 APEs. After not hearing anything through this week (and freaking out every time I checked my email) I followed @HoratioAlger’s advice and emailed the internship office (“intern_application@whitehouse.gov”) and my interviewer on Thursday. And today I got the conditional acceptance email! So, for those still waiting (I 100% feel the anguishing stress haha), definitely email them!! It worked!
Did you receive your conditional acceptance from your interviewer or from the WHIP office?
Did anyone else just receive an email from Hope Howard-Bacife about security/ pre- screening additional form?

@Kappy05 Mine reads pretty clearly as “we took so long to start processing your background check that we need you to give us permission again.”

I just spoke to the WHIP office and I guess some offices do a security check before accepting interns so if you got more forms it just means they are doing your background check and you should hear shortly.
