Whitney Houston dead.

Hopefully you can manage just a little caring for one child who just lost her mom.

Ugh.

Sad the daughter lost her mother, perhaps…But the daughter is an adult,18, and has done a recent stint in rehab…the apple apparently didn’t fall too far from the family tree

Perhaps???

Even people who are in very conflicted relationships grieve those they lose. It might not be the same sort of loss, but it’s a painful loss.

I hope if you fall someday, qdogpa, you are not surrounded by people waiting to jeer at you.

Whitney was up for a panel show.

If anyone married in the 80’s danced to “I Will Always Love You” they probably danced to Dolly’s version. Whitney didn’t release hers until '92. So, to rockvillemom, the answer would be zero. But hers was probably the biggest hit, and best remembered version.

My 2 fav songs were “Saving All My Love for You” and the lesser known “All At Once”.
She was also my fav National Anthem at Super Bowl in '91.

Who is jeering, i have no sympathy for those who have every possible resource to help themselves and choose to continue to be an addict…i do have sympathy for those who need help but either can’t afford it or can’t get the help… Whiteny Houston was the worst kind of drug addict, a wealthy one who was able to beat the system with her weath and celebrity status

I ran across this in my google search. Something about blood running down her leg on Thursday night…

SO?? In what way does that take away from the tragedy of losing a parent?!? Wow…

RIP, such a tragic way for such talent to be extinguished (not just her death, but everything else that prevented her from fulfilling all that she was capable of).

* i have no sympathy for those who have every possible resource to help themselves and choose to continue to be an addict*

Do you feel the same way about diabetics & cancer patients who struggle with their disease?

I don’t want to hijack the thread, but I’m curious to ask kity4- is there a connection relating to sympathy, between cancer patients and drug addicts that I am not grasping? I don’t understand the relevence. (post 30)

Oh brother, now i am against diabetics and cancr patients…where in the world did this come from??? Emerald kitty ,you need to put on your reading glasses and carefully red a post, before you reply something that is untrue

What is a fact is she has been a drug addict for decades, even beofre marrying Bobby Brown.Clive Davis created a persona so different then who Whitney was…But apparently man of you are unaware of this, and fell for the publicity machine

q, no one is denying she had demons. But in what universe does that take away from the tragedy of losing a parent? That’s just despicable that anyone could think/say that IMO.

Only when we care about each one can we care about the many. She had her own pain and sorrows - a person like you and me. Can’t you feel her pain along with the pain of the suffering children?

I said sympathy for daughter, perhaps…didn’t say another word about the daughters loss…perhaps, "as in i can see that’… Not a word about cancer victims or diabetics, but read into it as you want…the fact is Whiteny is/ was drug addict, which by all accounts is an illegal activity…i feel more sorry for inner city children who have drug problems without e ability to get help, then Whitne Houston

So very sad ….RIP Whitney

My heart and prayers go out to her family. I saw an interview w/ Cissy Houston where see talked about how devastating it is to have your child completely consumed by drugs.

Addiction is an illness or do you think drug addicts like to be that way?

There just seem to be some celebrities for whom no good outcome seem possible. Whitney’s death was shocking but not the least surprising. In the same vein, every time I see a picture of Lindsay Lohan I think it will just be a matter of time before she loses her life if something drastic doesn’t happent to save her.
