<p>Kjoyful - I understand your logic, and it is statistically true that as we get further along in the admissions cycle, the time decay does not work in our favor. With every wave that goes out with admissions only, the statistical chances of acceptance for those left in the pool does decrease. </p>
<p>I think you are just managing expectations, as we all are, since we know the rejections are imminent. Yes, there may be some acceptances coming, and we all hope we are among the lucky ones who get them. I have not given up hope. I’m sure alamemom, who has been wonderfully supportive and positive throughout the hand-wringing happening on this board, understands the reality that anyone who is still waiting is more likely to get bad news than good. She’s a mom and can’t help trying to keep us hopeful!! 
But guys, we all need to be ready, because undoubtedly most of us will end up somewhere else. I for one intend to start focusing on the schools that want me!!</p>
