Who completely bombed the a section of the ACT

wow… tutors… there are usually no need for them.(that’s what I think). Just make her study some math concepts, and also buy a prep book and make her focus on math. Also, just relax- she’s already over a 90th percentile and she’s not a junior yet, and if she DOES bomb math again, there will be more chances in her senior year.

Science 26…my next lowest score was English, 32! Really dropped my composite. :(

My lowest is reading… 20!!
I seriously don’t know what happened. It’s the lowest I’ve gotten when I take the practice tests.

English 24 (!!)
Math 32
Reading 33
Science 32
Composite 30

Science of 23 absolutely killed me.

English:24 (die! >:[)
Math:28
Reading:28
Science:29 (woot 6 classes of science)
Composite:27

I iz not speek english wellz. If only I had a 28+ in English, I wouldn’t feel as bad as I do right now. If the English is comparable to the Writing section of the SATs, then there is a pattern… Thoroughly disappointed in my SATs as well… Oh well, going to college next year anyways.

I was:
31 Reading
32 English
25 Math :frowning:
26 Science :frowning:
29 Composite

I’m retaking to see if I can break the 30s

30 English (+0) I was expecting around a 33-34. Thought I did much better
34 Math (+0) Thought I got a perfect
26 Reading (+3) expecting a 28 or 29
22 Science (-4) same as reading
28 Composite

I couldn’t believe it when I saw my composite. I thought I did so much better. I need to break the 30s because I want to go to WashU, otherwise I probably won’t get in. Combined with my last test, I have a superscore of exactly 29 (luckily WashU superscores). So if I can improve a few sections on the Sept/Oct exams, I may be ok.

killersdeat0 - thanks. I’ll take your advice and relax. She’s not concerned at all, actually she wants this to be it for standardized tests - she says 95th percentile is good enough (she’s in the low end of the 25-75% range for her first choice - she’s not aiming for HYP). I will try to talk her into trying again. If I could get her to work with a prep book on math, that should work, but she hates math so much that will take a lot of convincing…

I got a 21 on Science but this was the first time I took the ACT…
please tell the Science section was unusually hard on the June exam or I might switch to focusing only on the SAT

^Na trust me … ACT is a whole lot easier.

@ Qwerty

The Science section on the June ACT was unusually difficult imo. I got a 22 (26 first time) on it and that section alone ruined my score. I’d say give it another shot in Sep/Oct and you’ll probably see a decent improvement.

English: 32
Math: 34
Reading: 29
Science: 27

Composite: 31 (decent)

E 36
M29(disappointed i was scoring 33ish on practice tests)
R 36
S 28(was hoping for a 30)
C 32
was one point away from a 33 so i’m kinda mad will retake

E 32
M 34 (dissapointing b/c i got a 36 on a practice and an 800 on math2c)
R 35 (really really surprised)
S 32 (dissapointed b/c i took ap bio, ap chem, and physics h so science is my strong point and i got a 35 on a pratice test)
C 33
I was also 1 point away from 1 point on my composite, 34
I’m gonna retake it in nov and just raise the math and science for schools that superscore the acts so i can hopefully get a 35

34 Eng
25 Math (BOMBBOMBBOMB)
28 Reading
26 Science (also BOMB!, I went down 2 pts too :frowning: )
29 cum

That’s from December (took it w/o studying)

English - 27…
I thought the June English test was easy so I was expecting a better score.
