who here has 18 credits+ freshman year?

I took 20 hours and managed to keep my 4.0. It was hell though.

17 now but doing 18 next.

I’m doing 21 next semester (but 6 come from Korean, which frankly should be a typical 4, so 19)

I don’t know about the rest of you, but after this one, I’m ready to do less studying and more of the rest.

btw. are you guys doing double degrees or trying to graduate in 3?

hey I think we should list the courses we take, just so everyone can get an idea. Some courses are worth 3 and are hard as hell. Some courses are worth 4 but are easy as pi. In addition, the god awful labs that should be banned.

Nope, 15 credits + working 25-30 hours a week. Second semester I think it was 16 +working + one of those credits was a practicum class.

well it depends if those classes are easy or hard… im only at 13 credits and its horrible because of how many hard classes im taking

We do quarters and I have 17 credits this quarter, 17 credits winter quarter… not sure about spring…

@ISUClub:
I’m in three classes that are part of my major in a residential college, which luckily have no tests, but have quite a few reading/writing assignments (I think I like writing over test-taking, though, so it’s nice). I’m also in French 201, an intro to meteorology class, two jazz ensembles, a jazz combo, and Spartan Brass (the band that plays at MSU hockey/bball/vball games), which totals 18 credits (21 if the second jazz ensemble [I’m only taking one for credit], combo, and SB were all for one credit each). I was hoping to lower it down to 13 or 14 for the spring semester…but it looks like I’m going for 17 or 18 again. :stuck_out_tongue: (Actually, my grades are pretty good right now, which is nice)

I would have had a 4.0 if it weren’t for a -itch professor that didn’t give out a single grade over a 3.0. If I would have had any other prof for that class, I would have had a 4.0 for the semester with 18 credits and three jobs. I worked probably 20 hours a week (minimum 15, usually around 25 hours per week) my first semester.

Again, it’s all about how you balance your time. People like trombones are crazy though :p.

Oh, ISU, I am graduating in 4 years with two degrees (BA and a BS), but that wasn’t the plan last year. It’s just how it happened to work out, despite my advisor’s repeated protests lol.

I knew a guy who did a math major in 2 semesters. He was finance major, and then decided to double major in math. We took Theo Linear Algebra together, and at the time he was taking 21 credits, which consist of 4-5 math classes. He had to really step it up for finals, as he pulled an allnighter in a math study room on 4th floor of math building lol… brought his toothbush and everything. I think he told me he go a 3.8 for that term. poor guy, but he’s got it made. So note to everyone, not all finance majors are idiots.

Honestly, I don’t understand how one can do these kind of things and still have a night life. My night life has been cramming for exams and watching the 4 AM news…

I’m doing 18 this semester and 19 next.
I have to work my ass off because I stupidly decided to double major AND a minor as well. :expressionless:

Stupid irrational frosh decisions…

Oh by the way, I have currently have 3.8 and go out EVERY weekend (THUGLIFE) hahaha but really, I have insomnia so I do most of my work during “insomnia hours” and sleep randomly throughout the day before/after classes haha :D
