May be a real effect or may just be that most people feel better fairly quickly with COVID. The first time I had it I was definitely sick - for about 36 hours. After that I feit completely fine though I continued to test positive for a good 10 days. The second time I did feel bad longer but it was only at the level of a bad cold. I didn’t take paxlovid either time but if I had I would definitely have assumed it made me better the first time and kept the disease mild the second. No way to know if your natural course of the disease would have been mild without paxlovid, but given your health concerns and tolerating the paxlovid well it certainly made sense for you to take it.
CVS said a new vaccine is coming out in few days. I was just about to schedule for one.

For me, each time I’ve taken an anti-viral it’s like a switch was turned on. I felt barely able to rise from the bed and everything achy and then once the rx kicked in, SO much better and human again. It’s happened at least 3 times—twice with Tamiflu and once with Paxlovid.
Son felt well enough to go to work today - masked on the shuttle and in cafe and no one sits close to his desk. I guess his immune system worked hard and fast!

Dang! Covid is supposedly low in NJ, but relative who attended a very large wake with people from all over country came down with it three days later. Guess it’s here now.

My husband and I got our COVID and flu shots yesterday - one in each arm. Today my COVID arm is very sore. My flu arm is just a bit sore. No other issues, 15 hours later.

My husband and I still mask in public places. We walked into a high end mall yesterday and were immediately confronted by a security guard and told masks weren’t allowed. We weren’t seriously shopping anyway since this mall has higher prices than I am willing to pay so we left without arguing, but getting kicked out for masking was a first for us.

I have seen people here wearing masks while shopping. Just yesterday in Trader Joe’s.
