Who here has not gotten COVID? Who has long COVID?

I was using XLear in case studies were accurate.

I’ve been buying ENOVID from Israelpharmacy. but it is much more expensive. Also interested if anyone has used this site for either the spray or the try-tests.

I have not been charged any import/VAT type tax for the ENOVID from Israel. Wonder if ordering the tests and spray from Germany would incur custom charges…anyone have a guess on this?

When I prepared a sample order of 15, they averaged a price of $17 apiece, while the ones I bought in Israel were about $40 apiece or more. They said delivery is in about a week and expires 10/2024.

We got tri-tests in Krakow. OTOH, no Paxlovid!

Thanks for the link to the German site, www.maskwholesale.eu. They have Enovid at a much cheaper price than the Israeli site. When we are ready to reorder, we will try getting it there. We might get a few tests that test for many things at the same time as well (covid, flu, rsv). Right now, we have lots of covid tests and enovid. The enovid they’re selling doesn’t expire until 10/2024. They call it VirX, SaNOtize. If you buy 15 bottles, it ends up about $17/bottle instead of $40+ and they estimate about a week shipping time.

And the covid kids (my two co-workers) are back today. Ugh! One - who sits in the cubbie next to me - doesn’t sound too bad. His symptoms starts Sunday before last. But the other… oh my. This morning she wasn’t TOO terrible, but I think her meds wore off. The constant coughing, sniffling. She looks and sounds miserable. Her symptoms started last Monday. No masking required (or being done), so I really hope I don’t come down with it. We all were supposed to get our pictures taken upstairs together for new ID badges. I ran up there 5 minutes early and was out of there before the group came up.

Oh my - and someone from upstairs who can just barely talk and is coughing and hacking just walked into my cubbie wanting help. She just completely coughing straight into my cube. I think I’m going to have a nervous breakdown!

@classicmom98–I hope YOU are wearing a well-fitting, high quality mask to protect yourself! Wearing such masks REALLY help! There were tons of folks coughing throughout our flights and neither H nor I got sick from any of them because we kept such masks on AND used our antiviral nasal sprays and tried to stay as healthy as possible. It’s awful that people feel compelled to work when they really may be quite contagious with whatever they have.

No. I haven’t worn a mask in a long time. I normally figure my H who works around 500 coughing kids every day will bring it home to me. he did the last time. He doesn’t care about such things. We ate dinner at a mostly take-out chinese place on Saturday. One of his favorite kids’ family owns it and she’s always there. He was being all nice and wanting to hang out until I pulled him aside saying ā€œdo you not hear her constant cough?ā€ Uh no. Please stay away… Ugh…

And I go to the gym and do plenty of other things where I could get sick… but if you are that sick and sound that sick… please stay at home, or at least stay in your own cube!!! She could have easily emailed what she wanted. My sick co-worker is at least doing that - staying in her cube. Just coughing is a nails on a chalkboard sound for me. I’m very sensitive to certain noises.

Well, best of luck to everyone in trying to stay healthy!

So I have been sick 17 days with hospital on day 9. The last few days, like @oldmom4896 , has involved asthma. My tests have been negative for 3 days but breathing problems and cough from asthma seem to follow the actual infection, because inflammation remains. I am taking the low dose steroids that I can tolerate and mixing nebulizer albuterol with saline to make it gentler, for my heart, along with inhaled steroids. I think I am quite improved today!

@compmom — sorry for your breathing struggles. Have your providers considered Xopenex (it’s the firm of albuterol that is supposed to be easier on the heart). It’s available as both an inhaler and via nebulizer. You may wish to ask your provider.

Thanks @HImom. None of the docs I have seen in the last 17 days has mentioned it, including hospital cardiologist. I had to move my pulmonologist appointment to late January and am scheduling a new cardiologist. I’ll ask. Appreciate the suggestion!

The insert says:
Before using Xopenex, tell your doctor if you have heart disease, high blood pressure, congestive heart failure, a heart rhythm disorder, a seizure disorder, diabetes, or overactive thyroid.

sorry you are still having issues.

I went to the conference last week and by friday night I was coughing and now I have a runny nose, but every covid test for the last 4 days have been negative. What is interesting, is that within 24 hours my husband caught my cough. So whatever I got, its a quick catch. I wonder if its related to the new respitory illness I have heard about.

@compmom — Our family prefers Xopenex when we have trouble breathing as it tends not to make heart beat as rapidly as albuterol.

One of the RTs said the hospital she worked at always gave xopenex to babies and people with heart issues instead of regular albuterol. It’s a bit more expensive but is an option to consider.

My sister in law has been bragging that she is immune to Covid. She only got the initial vaccine so that she could visit her parents in their assisted living facility; she never got any additional vaccines or boosters. She finally got Covid, right after she recovered from a nasty bout of RSV that had her in bed for two weeks. I’m sorry that she is sick, but I’m not surprised that it happened … it’ll find most of us, eventually.

It’s been a month. Still coughing (not unusual), some asthma, and some weird neuro stuff but on the mend. Hope everyone stays well!

My husband is recovering from his first ever bout of COVID but it’s been like a mild cold. I still haven’t had it and seemed to have dodged a bullet being around him. We’re flying for Christmas and will have my fingers crossed the whole time!
