Sadly we’d have to be around them for an evening which exposes us too in the house. Could wear masks but I dunno - also depends on them feeling well enough in 4 days which is unknowable.

My Covid booster was injected in the top of the triangle last year. I remember thinking that it felt really different when he put the needle in. It caused pain that lasted for months. I’m going to make sure it’s never given that high again!

I’m currently in bed with Covid. I tested positive Monday, and I started feeling a bit better yesterday - so I did too much & last night I felt horrible. Since Monday, I’ve had a headache, sore throat & runny nose. Last night, I was dizzy and very tired. I think that I am better today, but I’m being a baby and staying in bed until I’m sure I’m good. I got some hives this morning , so I know that the virus is still hanging around. This is my third bout (second this year). I have no idea where I got it, and no one I‘ve had close contact with got it from me. I did have three medical appointments last week, so I may have picked it up along the way - or from the waitress who was coughing at breakfast. I’m vaxxed to the max. Just unlucky, I guess.

I’m much better today, although I’m taking it pretty easy. I tested negative, which is great - I was tired of living in the guest room!

Mid 30’s kid had vaccine Wed. and is still sick with it. I just had my Moderna this afternoon. Trying to time it right. No flu shot yet.

I felt sick after my Modena vaccine last month (Oct 14)…happens every time. I was tired longer than usual and the vaccine site was raised and red for over a week and is still sore to the touch. I think the lady that administered it didn’t place it correctly.

Hope your child feels better soon.

Still a Novid myself. Still no boosters!!

My SIL only got the initial first vaccine. She didn’t get Covid until she did (just about a year ago). She now suffers from health issues associated with long Covid.

Of course, the genetic lottery matters in terms of how vulnerable you are to severe COVID-19 or long COVID. Other chance factors like initial viral load also matter

Even before vaccines, some people got only asymptomatic COVID-19. However, people were more likely to have bad outcomes without vaccine than with vaccine.

I had Moderna shot Friday afternoon and was sick with fever (100.5) all day yesterday with severe headache, and aches all over. Pretty much fine today.

I finally got COVID last Nov, the one time I took an art class w/out mask. It was one month after my vaccine and I still landed in the hospital. Paxlovid affected my heart (unless it was COVID, MD’s don’t know). I cannot take meds like steroids or albuterol so doctors didn’t know how to treat me. I got better anyway with no long term effects thank heavens. Hoping for better luck this year.

I have a friend my age who goes to crowded events unmasked and was just in the car with her daughter for 3 hours one day before her daughter tested positive. I am wondering if my friend has immunity.

I have still never tested positive for COVID. I suspect I had it at some point, but I’m sure I’ve never had a bad case.

Still never had it. I get all the boosters. I want to know I did what I could.

I had one known case of COVID-19, but the symptoms were minor enough that probably many people would not have been suspicious enough to test. This was during BA.5 predominance, and after 3 vaccines (2x Janssen, 1x Moderna against ancestral virus).

My genetic relatives’ known cases of COVID-19 all had minimal symptoms, though all were after vaccines. A sibling’s spouse had it bad with some long COVID effects before there were vaccines, and some of their genetic relatives also had it bad.

That kind of thing is why I say “I’ve never tested positive” as opposed to “I’ve never had it.” I have tested a few times, but never positive.

Had my 1st Pfizer vax yesterday; all my previous were Moderna. This is the only vaccine where I didn’t feel 100% after. Nothing bad, just a very low graded temp., with a sore arm and the back of my neck.

I always schedule my vaccines for a time where I could stay home for a couple of days if needed. I still feel well enough to join some friends for dinner tonight, but hanging out at home before that.

My pharmacist commented on how small the injection was as far as the amount of serum and the needle size. I didn’t even feel the shot, but know I got it as when I took the bandaid off, there was a tiny drop of blood!

While the Pfizer Comirnaty vaccine is similar to the Moderna Spikevax vaccine, the amount of mRNA is different. The Pfizer Comirnaty dose has 30 micrograms versus 50 micrograms for Moderna Spikevax.
