May I ask a question? Who cares what John Kerry says? Nobody paid any attention to him before he ran for President. Nobody paid any attention to him while he was running for President. And, I can’t think of any reason to pay any attention to him now.

Well, he was a war hero and a whole lot of Democrats believe that this will help him defeat Bush

Oh wait

my wife tells me things didnt work out like they seemed.

Next?

Funding, you have the quote precisely right! What you failed to mention was the context in which that quote was made. The context was that there are some things that the Iraqi Militia IS capable of doing right now, and doing better then us. They can at least speak the language, which goes a long way in defusing a dangerous situation. We are trying desperately to win hearts and minds, and this would aid in that effort. Imagine it is 2:00AM, the power has been shut off and it is pitch black, you can hear them coming, hear the neighbors screaming. Suddenly the door is kicked in and in barges a group dressed in full battle gear including night vision equipment, they are screaming in a foreighn tongue. Sound terrifying? How many hearts and minds have we just won? Religious concerns? Having a group of soldiers seeing Mrs Hassani in her PJ’s is comparable to the anger you may feel if Mrs Fundingfather were paraded naked in front of the Iraqi Army. This is better handled by the Iraqis, it will create NO additional enemies for us and makes sense. Giving us a quote out of context is the same behavior that got us into this debacle. Oh, and one more thing, the military is TRAINED to terrorize. It’s their job. Terror is not a bad word.

Me thinks that people who want to lead, do NOT make verbal mistakes. They may have syntax or pronunciation errors. Our leaders have, virtually unlimited personal assistance, research, advice, counsel and coaching, and a tremendous personal background, They do NOT make verbal mistakes.

If you were a soldier and your CO told you to go left, and you follow orders by training, and you get your legs blown off. Does your CO say that he is sorry because he meant, right? If your CO makes just one verbal error, would you or your fellow soldiers have future confidence in him/her?

Did Mr Kerry, say what FF quoted, or did he not, or did Mr. Kerry, say oops, I meant … ?

I do not wish to believe that our President makes verbal mistakes. I sincerely believe that he means what he says. This is what makes him endearing to the public. Anything else is dangerous to the Nation and to the World.
