Who would have thought that cutting flowers and preserving them in arrangements is such a mix if science and art? 
Yesterday, I bought a huge bouquet of local flowers for mils birthday, which I supplemented with flowers from my garden, and used this method.
We will see if they last unusually long, but she wouldn’t say anything if they did.
I also mixed in a spoonful of sugar.
