The person paying both the CS and EE makes more money.

Everyone needs to calm down. Get a degree, find a job, smoke some kush, chill out, and enjoy life.

Theres no point in arguing which major is better/worse/etc.

You guys are arguing over stuff that doesn’t matter. Do something you’re interested in, and try to be good at what you do and let life do the rest.

Blah blah blah Outsourcing blah blah blah. There are both advantages and disadvantages for a company to outsource its work and not every job in the world is going to be outsourced. There will be work.

And if for some reason, there is no work, you can employ yourself. Someone can develop quality iPhone/Android apps with their CS skills and make a living like that. Maybe get some CS friends together and start a firm and collab on the apps. Be creative with your skills and look out for opportunities and most of all have fun.

Thats all. Don’t take things SO seriously that you have to pull up meaningless statistics to make some empty points. Ok, Boeing, Intel, etc may have laid off employees a year or two ago…well…which field HASN’T laid off employees? We were in the middle of a ****ing bad economy. Every field gets affected in an economic downturn whether its directly or indirectly.

Excellent post, WastedxYears! It should go in one of the stickied threads. You expressed so well what I’ve been thinking as I read a lot of these posts.
