<p>In fact, there is still a small change there could be three Pac-10 BCS bids, as USC still has a (small) shot at an at-large bid if they win out. What helps USC’s cause is their large national fan base which makes them more attractive to the bowls.</p>

I just commented on the fact that by beating Oregon, Arizona just cost Pac-10 millions of dollars in revenue. Obviously, Arizona should and did played their hearts out. Who said they shouldn’t? The fact remains they did Pac-10 a disfavor.</p>

<p>Look, I agree that Arizona has probably done a disfavor to the Pac-10 as a whole.</p>
<p>But on the other hand, Arizona is itself fighting for a chance at a bowl, as well it should. I don’t think anybody here disputes that Arizona should be fighting as hard as it can to improve its own position. Just like every team in the country should be trying to defeat every opponent it faces, even if it means denying a fellow conference member a chance at the national championship. I hope that nobody ‘blames’ Stanford for beating USC and knocking them out of the championship race. {After all, if USC’s only loss was that 1-TD loss at Oregon, then I would say that USC would still be very credible championship contenders, especially if they wallop their 2 remaining opponents.}</p>
<p>But even given what has happened, I think we should keep in mind that the Pac-10 still has a shot at sending a team to the national championship game. After all, Arizona State is still just a 1-loss team, with a couple of important games left to play (especially against USC). If Arizona State wins those games big, and a few other teams (i.e. Kansas) lose, then I would say that ASU has a shot at the BCS game and then the Pac-10 won’t have lost anything. I don’t think things are as grim as people are making it out to be.</p>
<p>I don’t feel Arizona did a disfavor to the Pac10. Oregon without Dixon is kinda like a toothless tiger. I’d rather have them beat now by a Pac10 team than see them somehow slide into a NC game and then get blown out by LSU or whatever.</p>
<p>Totally agree with you sakky. That was my whole point. Of course every team should bring their “A” game to every match, otherwise what would be the point of football, or any other sports for that matter. It’s just unfortunate that Dixon had to go down at that moment.</p>

<p>So Miles, like Carr, continues to walk a fine line, essentially promising nothing, most recently on the Jim Rome show Wednesday, where he made it clear he has had no contact with Michigan. </p>
<p>Will Miles be the next coach here if Carr steps down?</p>
<p>Not if Carr announces any time soon. Jilting LSU in the midst of a potentially championship season would go against everything Miles’ mentor Bo Schembechler stood for, and it would be impossible for Miles and Michigan to both hold out for nearly eight weeks as the Tigers chased the title.</p>
<p>Carr knows that, so you can consider the date of his official announcement a bit of a referendum on whether or not he wants Miles to have a shot at the job. "

<p>Is there any hope for next year because I really don’t see any. We are losing all our offensive weapons, Hawkins, Forsett, Jordan, Jackson (most likely) and worst of all we still have Nate as our QB. The defense looks just plain horrible, how do you give up over 300 yds rushing, absolutely sickening. I don’t know I am not looking forward to next year I just don’t see any positives to look at, someone please enlighten me.</p>
