<p>I don’t understand why there’s so much hostility. Yes, I know that chance threads have no effect on what actually happens. Yes, I know that it can be annoying to see these threads over and over again. But they’re not that bad. I applied EA to UChicago, so your comments will not, of course, aid me in my endeavors to get into this school. However, they can help me understand potential flaws within my application. The people on CC are not ad coms, but they can still provide insight into how my application is seen. Maybe someone’s opinion sways me to pick different EC’s to include on my application. Maybe doing this will improve my chances at another school should I get denied from UChicago. You’re completely right in that chancing me doesn’t help me get into UChicago, but it can help me prepare a better application for other schools. Besides, "Chance Me"s kill time when you’re bored and have nothing to do
