I have a test on D-day in that class :(. Makes me sad.

Me TOO!
and a gov test too.
:[
Going to rush home right after gov test and check results.

I can’t even rush home! I have a swim meet after school and I won’t be home until 8pm. I have a feeling when I get home, check my results, and come to this thread, there’ll be another 30 pages of sulking/celebrations.

It should be illegal to test on D-days :(

Pride & Prejudice <3

My teachers have no sampathy about day-before-the-SATs or D-Day excuses. They just keep piling on the tests and homework. @laodicean, hopefully good news will await you when you get home…

Thanks sweetpuri ![]()
I’ll swim as fast as I can so I can get home quickly to check my decision.
And my teachers are the same way. So merciless.

Go beast your event! I never had a meet on a school day except for during season. Have you ever felt it hard to pace yourself when you’re all cold? I’ve had trouble dealing with that. But hopefully you come back to good results.

Thanks! I’m swimming the 400 IM. God have mercy on my soul.

But I never swim cold. I usually have sweatshirts on, or I’m in the shower. I’m more of a 200yd> guy, so pacing is not a huge part of my events.

@laodicean, that whole metaphor reminds me of this speech:

By the way, Im a white female.

What metaphor? lol

Haha oh it was so many pages back. I forgot to write that. I dont know, the one about about liking a girl or whatever.

Ohh, yeah that one. My school performed Almost, Maine today and that was one of the skits. It was pretty interesting.

^^I don’t know how my post showed up before your’s even though I responded to your’s…

Ahhh I love that graduation speech. It totally captures what it’s like to apply to a college.

That was a great speech!

._. The kid that sits next to me in physics won Siemens. That probably explains why I have a 75.

Awesome.

Calculus quiz on Friday that could possibly decide my semester average (B+ or A?)

Science UIL school team tryouts after school Friday. I made it last year when I didn’t even know how acids and bases worked or how many sigma bonds there are in C2H2 so… hm.

Tryout will take like around an hour and then I’ll fidget for results…

@aloice
Do you find calculus hard (are you in AB or BC?)?

I’m in BC. Since I’m taking AP Physics, AP Bio and AP Chem (plus lit and gov) at the same time I have not been able to do homework the night they are assigned this year, which means my grade doesn’t really accurately reflect my potential. My average in the second sixth weeks - a 87 - is such because I turned in several blank homeworks, dragging my average down 7 points. I’m doing a little better now, but semesterwise I still only have a borderline A.

I asked my Calculus teacher for a rec early on in the semester when I didn’t expect myself to struggle marginally with Calculus (I made 98 semester averages in Honors Pre-Cal). The week he wrote my rec my average slipped to a C because I turned in 5 blank homeworks (my major grades weren’t that bad, but the scoring system at my school really looks at homework). He had a serious talk with me about responsibility and stuff; I cried that day and made 97s on the two tests after that (I think he submitted my letter before grading those two, though). I haven’t failed to turn in all pieces of homework since.

Asking him for a rec was one of the worst decisions I’ve ever made in my life, frankly. Calculus is my worst class right now and although he assures me that he has talked about my ability to “overcome adversity” in his letter, I doubt it was even a mediocre letter. Ah well, I have to live with my life & choices. I already have bad ECs and mediocre essays anyway, if Penn rejects me I’ll just live with it. I’ve already been admitted to the business program at UT Austin (applying to SEAS at Penn though), which is probably better utilitywise anyway.

wow this is the 150th page.
Sorry to reply on this thread so so so late
BTW I am from India and I am applying to SEAS (computer science)
Why are so few people on CC applying to SEAS.
Well, I am happy that there are few, I have a better chance of getting into PENN!!!
I am extremely excited, yesterday night I couldn’t sleep thinking about my decision
