I stand corrected ._.

I stand corrected ._.

Although I do recall reading that …

Well, 50% chance of being rejected is better than 88% chance of being rejected for RD applicants.

To me, being deferred or rejected - I’d be unhappy either way

Sorry to be a kill joy, but only 11% of deferred applicants get in… ouch.

Guys, let’s not revert back to the typical ivy league discussion mode. Penn hopefuls are better than that.

YEAH, SWEETCOOKIE. Bring us back to our senses.
What are you favorite books?

I’m debating whether or not to apply to the UC schools if I don’t get into Penn. I don’t like Berkeley, and LA doesn’t have a business school. The other UCs are just ehhh, especially for business. Plus it’s two more essays to write and it’s due in like 3 days. Hmmm

TWILIGHT. 'nuf said.

just joking. But really, I’m not a tough reader. I enjoy books written to satisfy the masses’ imagination. I do like Jane Austen novels - Emma, Pride and Prejudice, etc. Books I read in class that I’ve enjoyed? The Kite Runner

Favorite book, without a doubt, is 1984. Orwell is incredibly insightful and foresightful – truly brilliant.

We’re losing our momentum, guys
And I LOVED 1984.

So I went to work for 4.5 hours…and I come back and find 7 additional pages of comments and warmth. Everyone here ROCKS, by the way. :)

Have any of you read The Overachievers by Alexandra Robbins? It’s easily my favorite novel. The title gives away its focus; a focus which probably applies to all of us (haha), and, if you are somewhat emotional when reading (ex. me), you’ll probably love it—its pathos appeal is incredibly strong (AP Lang & Comp, anyone? ).

@sweetcookie: I LOVE Pride and Prejudice. Never got a chance to read any of Austin’s other works.

Also, favorite DVD, anyone? For me, it’d definitely have to be The Blind Side. 2 hours and 8 minutes of pure gold.

I am absolutely enamored with “A Beautiful Mind.”

I feel left out. I’ve never read 1984. Then again, I’m really not much of a reader.
Never watched the Blind Side either…I was too caught up with New Moon at that time to care about the other competing movies. My bad

I almost never read, to be honest. I never found time.

I don’t watch TV or movies really either. I listen to music, play music, swim, and do homework. I sleep sometimes too, but not really.

gasp not much sleep? Confession here: I have never ever pulled an all-nighter for school before. I value my sleep too much.

WHAT?!

Average # of hours of sleep a week for me: 20. I have swim practice doubles thrice a week though, so I have to wake up early for those too.

(It’s funny because I literally spend more time swimming in a week than I do sleeping. Probably explains why I’m only 5’8")

Oh poor you laodicean
I guess that’s why your ec’s are a heck of a lot better than mine. We just have different priorities. =]

I have to go to bed at 9-10. I LOVE SLEEP.

Haha it wasn’t supposed to be pathos!
I’m not complaining about it, but I would love some more sleep here and there :)

From reading the last 10 pages of comments, I think Penn will have an awesome class next year!

Also, sleep>>school. Except for the sunday night after a long thanksgiving break…
Despite was CB says, AP actually stands for Advanced Procrastination.
