omgomgomg. i’m so jealous that you get to be a freshie. i wish i had known i could accelerate my studies and spend more time at cornell and no worries, i know the internet can be weird. are you in the facebook group at least?

and have you guys started dorm shopping yet? my mom wants to wait until after christmas for sales and things, which makes sense, but i wanted to see where everyone is. i started to make a list of stuff and i guess i’m a bit of a diva because my list includes coca cola products since cornell is pepsi (ew) only and like… poland spring and vitamin water haha. is anyone bringing a tv? i want to bring my N64 but i don’t want to make my mom buy a tv just so i can play super smash brothers at 3 in the morning. and is anyone getting a mini fridge or microfrigde? i dont want a microfridge cause i probably won’t use the microwave but i drink stuff all through the day so i thought a regular fridge would be good.

Dunno, if anybody here is a Harry Potter geek (although I know Azu is :P) but my best guy friend sent me the link to the first trailer of HP and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1!!! SQUEAL!!! lol [MuggleNet | The ULTIMATE Harry Potter Fansite - Deathly Hallows, Half-Blood Prince, JK Rowling, and much more](http://www.mugglenet.com/app/news/show/3053/page/4) It looks brilliant!! can’t wait!! I can’t believe it will be an entire year!!! Ok, that is all lol

East, very good hopefully this week will be ur week! Oh and if I were you I would contact Emory to make sure the eliminate the HS from ur list. Trust me, they are not really the most initiative people lol. I’m expecting my decision in about week. Since everything is cleared and I got confirmation from the Assistant Dean that he was reading my application and as soon as he was done, he will forwarded it to the Dean.

For those who are Vassar supporters, lol, according to their site they release the decisions late December. So stay tune, cuz I’ll post the results :)

Water, This week’s episode will be BRILLIANT!

Lacey, most deft!! Please let me know when u post them online, would love to hear some more

Ironic, Yes, mam!!Will visit you!! Your so lucky you live in NY! I wanna go to the Rockefeller center SO BAD!! Every year, its like the Christmas season has officially begun!! and you get snow!! Don’t forget snow!!

This weekend was awesome In a good way. My mom made a copy cat of Chili’s triple combo. Meanwhile, we were all playing scrabble!! It was super cheesy but fun! I won too so cheer to me because that meant I didn’t have to clean the kitchen lol Booya!!

whoaaa emma watson with blood on her hands. I have yet to see her around campus here yet T_T

Also turns out the person I’m speaking to on Tuesday about my application is Cathy =o. I’m def visiting in February. I may visit in March, but that depends…dunno how my potential employers might feel about me taking a week off in February AND once again in March. Hopefully they’d be okay with it…

wait, why are you coming in feb? i mean i want you to, but i thought you were coming during spring break. unless your spring break is in feb, cause ours is in march O_o

President’s Week AND Spring Break! Apparently for the lack of breaks that RISD has given me, I’m being showered with them this semester. This makes me happy :3.

Also, I am terrible at focusing, since I"m supposed to be studying for a chem midterm and have yet to start doing practice problem sets for it. Blahh.

Oh yeh! I forgot Emma Watson goes to Brown, lol. I wonder if she actually goes or if she takes like online classes…haha.

Neat! Let me warn you, Azu, Cathy is really nice but she tells it like it is. But I have a good feeling your meeting will go well and that if you tell her everything you’re doing and express your interest in studying animal science (and how you wanna do it at Cornell in particular) you’ll make a good impression. :)

And someone remind me when you’re visiting because I’ll forget the date…

She does go! Everyone at Brown and RISD seems to have seen her except me, dining halls, on campus, etc. She shops at our school store and eats at our school cafes and even uses one of our classrooms for one of her classes. I also know where she lives, who her roommate is, and what classes she’s taking…She shops at our local Urban Outfitters. I’m NOT a stalker lol

Lol that sounds a bit intimidating. But I think just my pure honesty of what I love about Cornell and what I want to do there will get through. I’ll let you guys know how it goes. I’m looking forward to the honesty of what was wrong with my application; praying it’s just my background, not “Your essays were god-awful, never apply here ever again” or something. Aha. No jinx.

I’ll remind you on facebook or something =D Also, Ryan, do you know the protocol with taking a vacation from work? This is actually my first job shame so I have no idea how to go about it.

hahaha azu i would definitely be on the look out for her until i saw her and then it wouldn’t be so special anymore. i guess it’s the excitement of searching.

and i know you’ll do great with cathy definitely sit in on some classes. there are so many classes about cattle… it’s kind of weird. they also did this thing where they cut a part of a cow off and put a glass pane so you can watch one of it’s stomachs doing its thing. i kind of want to go see it hehe

and just talk to your manager and they’ll tell you what to do or they’ll just do it for you

Yeah, at least for me at Target, we put in ‘time-off’ requests at least two weeks beforehand so they know not to schedule us.

I don’t know about something like yours…is it a job-job or an internship or kinda both? If it’s an internship, it’d be best to tell them you need those two particular weeks off for (and just go with this) family reasons. If you tell them vacation or what not, they’d be like um…as a new employee, you shouldn’t really be making those demands.

But yeah, I’m sure your manager won’t mind, especially if you start mega strong and be all ‘hey look, I’m awesome! :-D’

I think it’s a job job, but it has the feeling of a paid internship–it’s being part of the kennel team. They hire a lot of college students who are juggling classes and the job. I guess I could tell them family reasons. I don’t know how appropriate “school reasons” are, as in visiting Cornell for application help–half of the doctors are FROM Cornell, but I’d be asking the manager, who might not be as understanding. Hmmm.

If I don’t get this one, I’d be doing volunteer work at a different hospital, in which case I think it’s okay to just tell them that I can’t come in during those two weeks…but I’m not sure. I could tell them it’s school related for that case (which it is). If not that, then family reasons.

For some reason I thought you were just visiting for fun, but that totally sounds way more appropriate hahaha. Telling them school reasons will work just fine, ESPECIALLY at the one with all the Cornellians. Hehe. Fingers crossed for yah! And I’m reversing my magic since last time I used it, 12 people got rejected the next day. X_____X

from Ian this morning, “The self-service system is the quickest way to receive notification of admissions decisions and we hope to have everything done by the end of this week.”

BTW, be easy on the housing people. I work at the housing office here and trust me when I say it’s pure hell.

guys i have a problem that is off topic lol. I’m writing a research paper about the economic crisis. I got lots of info and all that. However, the ENGLISH prof. wants me to put more stories and examples, so people will be “more likely” to read my paper. In other words, she finds it boring. I have NO idea what a example i can use in a topic that is purely about facts.

I think she probably means anecdotes, stories about how the economic crisis is affecting people…a more emotional and less factual aspect to the paper to make it more…heart-wrenching? Less logos, more pathos. You could probably find any news article describing joblessness and how a single mother can’t find a job so she can feed her 3 kids. Etc. Etc. haha.

No news for ILRies?..bleh. And Sandy didn’t email me back. I think ill email regular housing now and just cave for a double.

Hermanns, not to toss the idea of your apartment completely out the window, but frankly coming from a community college, I kind of wanted the real dorm experience for my first semester or so (yeah, i know it’s not all fun and the apartment has a lot of perks, but I’d still feel a little uncomfortable with only 3 guys living with me and me kinda showing up half way through like this.)

I still would keep the option open of course, but if you want to hurry and sign it to someone, feel free, I don’t want to hold you up! I’m just going to check with housing and see what my options are.
