Cram for psych this weekend, cram for micro and macro, then cram human geo in one night

Just started this weekend haha, IB psych took up last weekend, and just for a certificate too…

Anyway, I’m taking AP Spanish Lang, AP Bio, APUSH and AP English Lang and Comp, and have just commenced cramming.

I predict I’ll get an easy 5 on English, a 5 I may have to work for on Bio (definitely a 4 though), an easy 5 on APUSH thanks to my study guide, and hopefully a 5 on Spanish (because I seem to be able to ace everything except informal speaking, which sucks super hard).

Also, I’ve previously taken AP Euro and APWH, so if people need help with those tests, I have recommendations.

If anyone has any tips they think I might be able to use/ wants tips, feel free to hit me up! Good luck on exams :)

For me, I think AP stats is my last chance to add a second 5 to my list.
I’m predicted to get a 1 in AP micro.lolol trying to cram to get a 2
AP spanish Lang… 1 -___-" maybe a 2 if i’m lucky
AP bio: cmon if I don’t get at least a 4 im going to be ticked
AP lit: ehh… 3-4
AP gov: i dunno my practice exam scores yet I but i predict a 3
AP calc BC: 3 >.<

Any tips on micro would be great…

Hey Neorobie,

Why are you so pessimistic about Spanish?
I originally thought I’d do as poorly as you think you are, because so many native speakers take it, but it shouldn’t be terrible, after I looked at what the test is like.

It’s very structured writing and speaking wise, so of you hit the points they want in those areas, you should do solidly. MC isnt terrible either, because most listening questions are word for word, and reading doesn’t usually require reading the passage completely/ word for word translation, just picking out the questions from the text.

I think mindset has quite a bit to do with how we test, so be positive!

Sorry I sound preachy haha, I’m probably trying to convince myself too xD

overachiever63: I got 50% of the m/c right on my practice exam. I’m predicted to get a 1 (but she hasn’t graded FRQs but im sure they suck) I got a 540 on the Spanish SAT Subject test. and I speak with such a horrible accent. I’m screwed but the positive is that, I plan on taking Spanish in college anyways and study abroad so it doesn’t matter! heh heh

Your teacher sounds harsh!

1/2 the MC is a mid 3, no where near a one. Plus, your writing and speaking don’t have to be perfect or authentic, the examples on the College Board site that scored high are mediocre speaking wise; after all, the test IS supposed to be for non native speakers.

Your SAT score doesn’t count, too many native speakers royally screw the curve for the rest of us.

If you really think you’ll do so badly, why take it? I know at my school I’m forced to take them, because they’re apparently “prep” for IB papers, even though the two are completely different, but if you have the choice, why bother? It’ll save you studying te and stress.

I agree, college Spanish ftw, especially immersion programs!

Me! I have Psych and Env tomorrow. USH isn’t until Friday, and Lang isn’t until next Wednesday.

She is very nice but she isn’t a good spanish teacher at least for non native speakers. I have a 100 in the class and I am sure I don’t deserve it. I took it because originally there was a very high chance I’d get my spanish 3 teacher(the best spanish teacher ever) for AP spanish. He’s a gringo and truly helps us understand spanish and his fun teaching methods made me one of the coveted team members for spanish games. heh heh

I miss him very much.

He passed away last year. It was really shocking to all of us. Toward the end of the year he was missing a lot of classes. We had weeks of substitutes before we had other spanish teachers take us in but they refuse to do the teaching methods Senor did when we asked. It’s their right, of course… but I dunno… maybe I lost a bit of hope. Many of us who learned best with him lament that if he was here, we all would pass.

But now I digress. Anyways after spanish 3 we have to take AP Spanish since Spanish 4 is no longer offered at our school and in the AP program I am in, I have to take 4yrs of language.

AP Spanish is a breeze, I took it and got a 5. I didn’t like the speaking part, though… AP Psych tomorrow! Good luck to all!! I’m ready. I’ve getting an average of 93/100 on the Released Exams. I’m expecting a 5 in Psych, 5 or 4 in Human Geo, and 4 in AP Euro!

Neorobie: I see your situation now, and I’m sorry for your loss. I hope you do well, because it sounds like you definitely enjoy Spanish in the right setting
good luck on your exam!

Whatslife: how do you feel you did on each part? Like, I consistently score 10 or less wrong on MC, averaging 6 wrong, my writing scores a 5 on informal and a 4 or 5 on presentational on every practice, and my presentational speaking scores a solid 4 every time. My ONLY problem is informal speaking! irl I maintain conversation comfortably, but the recording isn’t anything like a real conversation. I freeze up terribly.

Do you have any suggestions, or an estimate on my score? Any help would be appreciated.

@overacheiver63 for Spanish informal speaking, I’d say during the allotted minute or thirty seconds or whatever, read over the thing and try to guess at what they might ask based on the clues and write out some prepared answers, or at least try to guess what the situation might be and what you could talk about. Like if it’s a college interview, come up wtih some questions you might ask about the college. If they’re asking you about your school, come up with problems about your school. If you’re talking to a policeman…it just MIGHT be that you were speeding, or at least write down an apology. If you are talking to an airline attendant think about asking for a ticket to somewhere specific. Etc.

I’m taking spanish lang, english lang, calc BC. -_-

@overachiever63 Practice in front of the mirror even if this sounds stupid. Think of the recording as a friend, and speak naturally.

Cramming for AP Euro right now. Not even sure if I will get a 4 at this point.

Studying for APES right now! Test is in 10 hours D:

Im studying for Art History while Im cramming like crazy as well as Physics B since I’m self-studying and Bio and Statistics so I dont have a life anymore for the next 2 weeks.

Attempting to cram for BC Calc in two days…not exactly my best idea.

I started self-studying for Psych on Saturday. I think I got a high 4 or a low 5 depending on my FRQ.
Next week I have AP World History and AP English Lang. AP English could be a 5, World History could be a 3 or a 4. I’m good at essays but horrible at MCs.

Thanks overachiever63! Good luck to you as well!! so scared… I was listening to the prompts on college confidential and they speak way too fast!!

Currently cramming for AP World - aiming for a 4/5.

My AP Chem test went awful -_- I’m PRAYING for a 5, but I KNOW I will get a 4. DAMN Free Responses! I hate my life. Ah well. Tufts won’t accept Chem credit for pre-meds anyway.

My AP Spanish exam was FANTASTIC, though! I actually spoke fine, and the rest I wrote a ton with good opinions (I think so, haha) so I really do think this shall be an easy 5.

And now? Tommorrow is the BC Calc AP. Not too worried; Math has always been really strong for me (Plus, I LOVE calculus.) Easy 5, according to my practice tests.

This week is SO stressful.
