Why are AC class passes not transferable and not refundable?

I’m an Econ/Stats major. My classes don’t have labs and are therefore much less expensive than science classes. Can we please create a system where I pay only the amount of class actually costs? I mean, I’m not taking any science classes–let the science students dish out the extra $$ for lab costs.

Starry, Berkeley isn’t here to cater to your wishes; it’s here to serve the greater good. The majority of students milk AC out of much more than $60 so it’s quite a good deal for the university.

P.S. Just as you have a right to express your opinion, you also have the right to transfer to a college better suited towards your needs

Yes, but without lab science classes, Berkeley’s reputation is sure to suffer. And thus your degree is worth less. Furthermore, And I believe a Berkeley education is worth more than what I’m paying for.

I’m not saying I refuse to pay, I’m saying that options should at least be considered. If not for AC transit (which, honestly, isn’t too bad), then for other fees. I believe in discussion, of anything and everything that has merit.

Am I going to march up to Sproul with a shotgun.? No. Will I talk about what I think on an internet forum when I really really don’t want to start hw and finished watching all the youtube videos I can stand? Yes.

Many people have the right to vote, but do they? But there are rights I choose to exercise and there are rights I choose not to exercise.

what was it called? utilitarianism?
