Why can't I freakin lose weight?!!

^^for some of us, things are simply not that easy.

I have to stay under 1200 to lose weight>>>>>>>

1200 for me to lose. And according to maintenance calculations, it’s all I will be able to eat once I hit my goal weight.

One got to do what one got to do, if she wants to accomplish her goal. Nobody is forcing anybody doing anything, it all depend on how much you personally want it. And this is also a pretty simple idea. There is a great flexibility in balancing of usage / consumption of energy, actually. If you want to eat more and / or have some tasty desert on one particular day, then just exercise more on this day. Exercise does not have to be very intense and it does not require any equipment / facility. The simple fast walking is fine, slow swimming is fine, many activities that people can still do in their 80s and beyond if they are lucky to live that long. You may add few minutes of weight lifting, it maybe only 5 min. (5 min. is my weight lifting regimen) or change it completely to your personal liking. And food, as far as I know, any food is OK, just make sure that it is in balance with your personal exercise plan. Unfortunately, if you do not exercise at all, which may be your personal choice, then you got to consume much lower amount of calories. There is nothing complicated about it, energy in / energy out.

Nope

Miami- this is all just so WRONG that I’m not going to pick it apart.

^ What MOWC said times 100.

1500 calories of donuts does not equal 1500 calories of healthy food.

When I decided to get back on track I decided to eat just a little less than what would eventually be my maintenance diet and exercise plan. It means the weight loss slows down as you approach your optimum weight and should help you to stick with it. I’ve never been a big believer in dieting - but I do believe in trying to eat healthy food most of the time.

Yesterday and today I am working on a special diet plan known as the “stomach flu” - designed to clean you out good and get you to fast for a few days… :-(. Not fun at all! I have been reading all your threads with great interest, but I decided several years ago that the effort to reach the goal made me think about food too much, and I am not interested in doing that. Instead, I just hang out here at 10lbs over my ideal weight and eat what I want, when I want.

Oh no, anxiousmom!! Feel better. That is not a fun diet plan.

@anxiousmom it’s like that line from The Devil Wears Prada: “I’m one stomach virus away from my target weight!”

Seriously, though, feel better and lots of fluids
