why so much hate at Penn?

Hate, or disdain for stupidity and entirely unwarranted hostility?

I wouldn’t waste my time with an econ (or any) PhD if you paid me, all those extra years for what…so you can become a teacher? ■■■ that

As a matter of fact, Bocconi University (Italy) and the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio) are indeed among the best schools in the world for ** undergraduate economics **.

American students are just too insular to acknowledge the reputation of overseas colleges. On the other hand, PhD advisors who had students from those colleges in the past probably know better, and that’s why Princeton accepts graduates from the likes of Bocconi and PUC-Rio.

Maybe because Penn graduates choose to get an MBA, JD or MD instead ? Or because they choose not to go to graduate school or to get a PhD in some other area instead of economics ?

If you want your threads to be credible, please post meaningful stats such as the rate of success among Penn graduates who applied for medical school, law school, business school and graduate school (PhD programs, all areas included).
