why did they call this site CollegeConfidential?

why doesn’t someone just google it and tell us the right spelling.

and what’s wrong with your hand?:)

Because LA Confidential is a good movie.

I’m lazy, but if you insist…it’s
SUPPOSEDLY

okay, here’s a nice name:
Campus Confidential!
it keeps the K sounds
keeps the ‘CCer’ nickname…everyone’s happy.

Uh… why? College Confidential sounds a lot better than “campus”, and you’re really not changing the meaning anyway.

Confidential seems a little irrelivent, that’s all.

then why are you keeping the “irrelevant” part and changing college to campus?

^ good question. I really don’t know.
do you have any suggestions?

confidential because you don’t use your real name (unless you’re an idiot). It’s like AA.

every discussion forum is confidential;not just this one. And there are plenty of people who use their names…but only their first, not last.

oh well, I think it’s the best explanation so far.

what about the ‘411’ one? lol

they should really just call it: College information webiste. members would be called" CIWers.

i think it’s perfect to call it collegeconfidential.

It’s a place where you can ask questions about college confidentially…i’d never tell anyone i was on this site, and i’d be embarrassed to ask a lot of the questions i’ve asked on here. it IS confidential.

Why would you never tell anyone you were on this site? Just curious.

yeah, why? it’s not like it’s illegal or anything.

its illegal in 2 states and 3 provinces in US/Canada…

Ha. Very funny.

thats what i think everytime i see your face! ooooooooooooooooooooooo

I don’t get it. Is that supposed to be an insult? If it is, you might wanna take a quick look in a mirror. ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

I know why its called college confidential.

First we are always talking about higher education. That is the topic of this site. So Naturally, college, university, or institute of technology must be in the name. Since I of T is way too long for me to type again, or go copy paste, that one is right out. Then It came down to if college or university should be in the name. The solution: Alliteration.

So according to the Podcast, what is this site geared towards? College admissions of selective school, were not talking about Rutgers selective, were talking about ivy leauge selective. Nartually, according to the podcast, there was not a whole lot about ivy leauge admissions information available at the time. The ways to get into those places, were dare I say it, confidential. It was like there was a secret “electoral college-esque” process that no one really knew anything about, but you needed to be smart or have high SATs or the like. So the purpose of this site is to let go of the confidentiality of the elite college admission process.

Confidential not only has alltieration but also, makes the “K” sound perfect!
