<p>My read, which might be incorrect, is that it was a reference to the CAS or what could be considered “general admissions” at both schools by defaulting all the admits who were not admitted to a Honor program or specific majors in business or engineering. It has been years since I looked at the finer prints of the programs, but I think that the CAS is still operating on a similar basis.</p>

<p>The size of the programs at Texas and TAMU are indeed an issue, but one that is precisely mitigated by a number of Honors’ programs. </p>
