Why is USC so expensive??

^^ cost is per year.

Remember that many students do not pay “list price”, due to financial aid. Since financial aid amounts often cannot be determined in advance (though some schools now have financial aid estimators on their web sites that can help in that respect), that makes it harder for each student to determine what each school will cost him/her.

While some schools explicitly state hard thresholds for need and/or merit financial aid, or give pretty good pre-application estimates, the lack of transparency at others means that one can only go by general reputation of the school to determine whether it is out-of-reach, reach, match, or safety for cost purposes.

You shouldn’t bump an old irrelevant thread.

And…that is for every year…not just one year.
