<p>I really wish people would stop associating Berkeley with something like “smelly hippie”-- I have yet to see a hippy on Berkeley’s campus, and students tend to wear Abercrombie more than Tye-dye t’s. Having been on both Stanford and Berkeley campuses (and having spent a frequent amount of time at UCB), I can say that they actually both have a similar feel. The Berkeley culture is the Bay Area culture (abeit maybe a bit to the extreme). They’re both excellent schools, and if you dislike Berkeley’s atmosphere, the Bay might not be the right area for you.</p>
