Will Grade recovery effect my chances of admission? [D in HS-level biology in 8th grade, repeated for higher grade; both on HS transcript]

This is neither here nor there for the purposes of this thread, but: In Fairfax County, Virginia, a middle school student who takes a high school-level course can expunge that course from their transcript. It otherwise would appear on their high school transcript, but if expunged it doesn’t and the credit doesn’t count toward graduation. So if a kid took Bio in 8th grade, got a D, and then took it again in 9th grade and got an A, they could expunge the D and there would be no evidence of it. In my S24’s case, he took Algebra I Honors in 8th grade and got a B-, and because of COVID they let kids do credit recovery even if they didn’t fail, so he did Algebra I (not honors) in the summer, got an A, and expunged the B-. So his transcript showed he took regular Algebra I and got an A.

However, where we currently live in NJ, the school does not put middle school grades on the transcript at all, even if high school courses are taken. So for Algebra I and Spanish I, they are not on his transcript at all. And even though he took through Spanish III, according to his current school, he has taken only two years of foreign language.
