You have a 50-50 chance through CARE, I’d say, perhaps a bit more like 75%.
whats care? and thank you very much!
Care is a special program at fsu for first generation or lower income students who have shown exceptional promise but fall a bit short compared to average test scores in particular. Admitted students get better financial aid and support than other fsu students (not private level but close). The program is extremely successful. You must indicate you apply for summer /care when you apply to fsu.
I would strongly recommend you do that.
im sorry i meant my chances at USF, tho i do appreciate the information giiven abotu fsu! with my 2.9 unweighted and 3.6 weighted what would my chances be at usf? also since im applying to a public florida uni, what would my recalculated gpa be? ty so much for taking the time to answer!
Your odds at USF are okay through their special program (YouFirst or something like that), but don’t put all your eggs in the same basket, apply to a variety of colleges.
Your recalculated GPA would count English, Math, Science, Social Science, Foreign Language, Art, anything academic - Honors add .5, AP/IB/AICE/DE add 1.
i had a total of 6 AP’s 15 honors, so what would that be? and ty very much!
xiggi
Can someone help me find the xiggi thread or silverturtle thread about preparing for the SATs? Thanks.
Can you guys chance me for USF? I’ve had about 8 honors classes and 8 AP’s ( if I include my senior year, if I don’t I have 4 ) My unweighted GPA is 3.5 cumulative, 4.35 weighted cumulative. My core GPA unweighted without fluff classes is 3.76, but I don’t know my core weighted GPA if it will be the same as my cumulative. Tried calculating it my self and got about a 4.023 for recalculated GPA. SAT is 1170, planning on retaking cause I was sick that day. A bunch of ECs, great writer, and a bunch of service hours.
GPA is fine, but SAT needs to go up a bit. Practice and review till you’re comfortably at 1250-1280 and you’re good.
